About

Hi, I’m Nish. I started out in theoretical physics and maths, and these days I work in data science and machine learning, with experience across finance, logistics, and tech.

I think we’re heading into a world with an abundance of intelligence, and a lot of useful and interesting things are going to come out of that. I also suspect it will change the role we play in it: less of our time spent working to acquire resources, and more of it spent learning and going deep on the things we’re genuinely curious about. This blog is my way of starting early. It’s where I keep what I’m learning along the way: how these systems work, how to use them well, and the ideas I find worth writing down.

Most posts sit somewhere across data science, AI, machine learning, and the bits in between, though anything I find interesting is fair game. Some build up fundamentals from first principles, some dig into specific techniques, and a few are opinions on where things are heading.

If you’re new here, the Explore and Glossary pages are good places to start.
